At Advanced Camera Services we have an ever growing number of products and services which have been developed to complement our infra-red and UV camera conversions. Please scroll down the page to see some of our products:

Nikon Rayfact UV Lens (PF10545MF-UV)

The Nikon Rayfact UV 105mm lens has optics which are optimised for UV and IR, within the range of 220nm to 900nm. When you focus this lens using the camera viewfinder (using visible light) the focus will also be correct for both UV and IR. Once the focus is found, it can be locked off using the focus lock feature. This lens has better UV transmission than any of the standard 105mm macro lenses. The Nikon Rayfact UV lens also does not have any issues with infra-red, unlike many of the other 60mm, 100mm, and 105mm macro lenses, on the market. For more information please get in touch here

Infra-red LED ‘Mini Flood’ Illuminators.

These LED Mini Flood lights have a 36 Led array, and are custom modified to either 850nm or 940nm for use with infra-red converted cameras. 850nm LEDs give off a dull red visible glow which does not upset wildlife, and 940nm LEDs have no visible output at all, which makes them perfect for covert photography and video.

Multiple units can be linked together, as shown in the images below, and fixtures are angled to provide you with a spread of illumination. You can mount the units in a wide variety of ways, and easily use them off camera. The rechargeable batteries are removable, and we can supply extra batteries to keep you going in the field. For more information please get in touch here

UV Flash Conversions

We can modify a number of different flash products to maximise the UV output. UV Flash is the safest method of illumination in UV. Where human exposure to UV light is unavoidable to either the subject, or the photographer, UV flash gives you the most control. Constant UV light sources can be seriously dangerous, whereas UV flash exposure is officially recognised as a safe source within sensible limits. We currently offer these modifications on a number of products in the Nikon, Canon, and Metz ranges. For more information please get in touch here

Full spectrum Flash

We use high grade quartz glass, which opens up the full useable output from the modified flash unit. Once converted you can add external filters in front of the flash to cut the spectrum down as required.

We supply our specialist filters cut and shaped, and ready fitted to the magnetic frames from the Magmod system. The Magmod system is an excellent solution to the problem of how to attach filters to flash heads, without resorting to gaffa tape. In the images below, you can see one flash unit is ‘wearing’ the Magmod ‘MagGrip’ base attachment. This is a tough stretchable band which will fit a wide variety of different flash models, and has magnets built in. The filter frames are also magnetic, and attach easily. This system gives you maximum flexibility, and almost unlimited possibilities with each flash head. You can easily combine or stack external filters, but also handle and store them safely. Obvious additional filter choices would be: ‘UV Only’, Polariser, and ‘Visible Only’, but many other filters are available. For more information please get in touch here
